Doric George has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 1987 and has been licensed in private practice on the west side since 2001. During this time he has helped countless individuals with depression, anxiety, grief/loss and many other types of emotional distress. He has also helped many ambitious men and women explore the potential of their minds and get more out of life. And he has also had great success with couples. In conjunction with EMDR Doric also uses traditional types of talk therapy along with other advanced clinical techniques that are proving to be very effective and have been known to create dramatic results in people's lives today. 310 - 717 - 1771 Professional Placements In 2003, Doric George was the interim director of Wavelengths International, an inpatient drug rehabilitation center in Malibu, California. Prior to that he worked at various counseling centers throughout Los Angeles treating and counseling the severely mentally ill, gang involved adolescents in Compton, victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, foster children and parents, children of families going through divorce and, of course many individuals and couples. Academic & Preclinical History In 1997 He earned a masters in counseling psychology at Ryokan College, Los Angeles, where he trained with Bruce Gregory, Sietse Vanderheide, Ronald Alexander, William Rolfe, and other highly effective clinicians actually working in the field. His approach has always been practical, creative, and actively body focused. Doric began working with health by teaching yoga, fitness and breathwork techniques in New York City where he was born. Soon after graduating from New York University in 1980, he became the Director of Training at the East River Tennis Club. A few years later he started the Rebirthing Center of Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1987, Doric moved to Los Angeles and began working with adult and children performers and started a private practice in advanced bodywork and breathwork, and taught Yoga. That evolved into his present day practice. |
